The sinking of the Lusitania

 In the Birmingham Gazette; 10th May 1915 and in the book ‘Birmingham in the Great War’, The Globe Public House is mentioned in association with survivors of the torpedo attack and the sinking of The Lusitania. On board were Edgar Hounsell, movie theatre owner and his business partner Edward Barry.
